How do you get rid of Acne Spots?

So I broke about a year ago, and most of my surface Acne is up to a few small outbreaks now and then gone, but I still have red spots and dark spots on my face. Is there a relatively cheap (and non-laser-OP / expensive Treatment) way to get rid of my Acne Blemishes? even now when I get acne, it usually heals in about a week, it leaves a dark spot where the pimple be used. all possibilities to avoid this? Thank you
